My intelligent Creator placed me here as a vital link in the food web of freshwater ecosystems.
Man is able to routinely use me for monitoring water quality because my presence and diversity can be a valuable indicator of the health of the aquatic environment.
This shows how wise and all- knowing is my Creator, Jesus Christ!
As a baby, I hatch from an egg in the bottom of a pond or river.
My prudent Creator designed me as a nymph to live underwater, where I breathe through gills located along the bottom sides of my body.
As I grow, my wise Creator has me to feed on small plants, animals, organic waste and debris.
Soon, I grow larger and larger, so I outgrow my skin.
My intelligent designer engineered me in such a way that I shed my old skin and grow a new one a lot of times because my skin becomes too tight!
On my back, I have pads where my Creator, Jesus Christ, designed that my future wings will be grown.
When approaching adulthood, I float to the surface of the water, usually at night time, and start to shed my skin for a new skin more suitable for flying into the sky.
After about 10 to 20 molts, my Lord so totally transforms me that old things are passed away and all things become new!
First, I am transformed into a dull-colored new winged insect creature, but after a day or so, I shed one more time to a shiny mature insect.
Of all God’s creatures only the mayfly is gifted with the knowledge and ability to shed after having wings!
As an adult, I live just a few hours because the new me has no mouth parts and I am energized on the food stored when I lived in the water.
My omniscient (all-knowing) Creator has allowed me to live about 3 years, and now, after mating in the air, new eggs will be laid in the pond and the process will begin again.

“Born. Eat. Shag. Die.”
Is that all that your life seems to be?
…For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. (James 4:14)
Time is fleeting away from all of us!
As for man, his days are as grass:
as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;
To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
(Psalms 103:15-19)
Think God is more concerned with feeding mayflies to sparrows?
But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. (Luke 12:7)
You must be born again
Like bullfrogs, butterflies, and mayflies, Jesus said, “Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.” (John 3:7)
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
