2006 Barmen Declaration of the Gateway Assembly of Anabaptists
In 1934, a relatively small group of Reformed and Lutheran pastors met in Barmen, Germany, to decry Adolph Hitler's then coming New World Order. Practically every church in Germany at that time had been incorporated by the state so that even the ministers' salaries were directly written on checks from the German state government. Hitler having thus purchased the silence of the pulpits against his rise to power in 1933 he began to immediately make demands of theological change in all the churches of Germany. While the democratic masses applauded their churches and pastors being a puppet mouthpiece for the Nazi state, this small group recognized their biblical purpose, as the true Ambassadors of Christ, to resist and repudiate Hitler and his regime of evolutionists. Their "Barmen Declaration" was especially a call to all the incorporated state churches and Christians of Germany to return to the scriptures and give resistance against the theological claims of the Nazi government. Based on a sermon message by Dietrich Bonhoeffer where he attempted a radio broadcast calling for the church to "Confess, Confess, Confess..." Jesus Christ as the only true Lord and Savior of His church and the world, this small fellowship became known as the "Confessing Church." Now a few of this group would become seduced by Faith Based Initiative$ and compromise the fundamentals of the scriptures for the comfort of conformity with the world as they then knew it. However, many would remain true to the tenants of the "Confessing Church" and the Barmen Declaration; suffering the deprivations of suspicion, arrest, torture, concentration camps, and executions. Surely after some 72 years we can look back and see history repeating itself and know that the same atrocities of Hitler's prison camps will soon crush our voices as we speak of resistance to the Antichrist kingdom being force upon us! Today, in America, we too see the "wars and rumors of war" abounding, and though we be few in number, and the Martyrs Crown may be the only inheritance for our children, let us courageously also stand in this late hour of the Twenty-First Century. Just before the dawn of the New World Order of Antichrist let us revise our own Barmen Declaration!
PREAMBLE
“Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us” (Luke 1:1). God’s Word — the Bible — declares: The Lord Jesus Christ is the Founder, Architect, Foundation, Chief Corner Stone, Chief Shepherd, and Chief Builder of His Church. The Lord Jesus Christ is the sole Head and Lord of His Church. Therefore, the Lord’s Church cannot be a subject of or submit to any other head or lord in her biblical and God-ordained design, purpose, and ministry. Just as the German Confessing Church in, 1934, felt it necessary to set forth a declaration as they faced the horrors of Nazism, we too believe that we have no choice but to set forth this declaration in 2006 as we face similar things that they faced, namely the total control by the state in every area of our lives, including our churches and homes. Because of this and In order to secure the Blessings of God to our posterity, and ourselves we do establish and publish this Declaration.
1. The Autonamy of the Local New Testament Church.
"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: " (Matthew 28:18-19)
"Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all." (Ephesians 1:19-23)
We reject the false doctrine that government has taken the place of the God of the Bible. Jesus Christ, as He is revealed in scripture is the incarnate Word of God, God’s only begotten son and is equal to God in that He is God. The Internal Revenue Service, as upheld by the courts, declares in Publication 1828 that IT is the one and only supreme head of the church. Churches are now considered to be illegal entities if they do not espouse “clearly defined public policy”. We publicly declare as the apostle Peter did, on behalf of the other apostles when they were commanded not to teach in the name of Jesus Christ, “We ought to obey God rather than men.” (Acts 5:29b)
2. Government control of pastors/preachers.
"Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Matt. 28:20)
"Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God." (Acts 20:26-27)
We reject the false doctrine that God-called preachers are agents of the state. Our Lord Jesus Christ, in His great commission, has commanded us to leave nothing out of our teaching that He taught. Paul the apostle to the Gentiles declared to the Ephesian elders that he taught all of God’s counsel. Therefore we further declare that we cannot and must not follow IRS Publication 1828 when it declares that pastors/preachers cannot discuss subjects that the IRS deems to be political from the pulpit or in official church publications. We will continue as Jude of old commanded to: “Earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” (v-3)
3. Pastors/preachers to be the voiced conscience of the land.
"Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins." (Isa. 58:1)
We reject the false doctrine that preachers are not to call their churches and nation to accountability for specific sins against God. Before heaven and earth we declare that we will not alter our preaching of the word of God for fear or favor. We will continue to cry out against sin whether it be in the church, society, or government. We will continue to stand against abortion on demand, infant baptism, evolution, sodomy, adultery, fornication, same sex marriage, adultery, pornography, witchcraft, vile entertainment, and materialism, etc. We will continue to preach the Gospel of Christ to Jew and Gentile alike recognizing that all men are the sons of Adam in need of redemption through the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:2)
4. Pastors/preachers must submit to God above Government
"Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God." (Rom 13:1)
"If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they. And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man." (2 Sam. 12:7a)
We reject the false doctrine of the unlimited submission to civil governmet. Our first allegiance is to God, not the state. We will continue to stand against the new world order as it brings in the kingdom of the Anti-Christ through a one world government and religion. We will not be a pawn for any political party. We will not support our President or our nation in unconstitutional and unjust wars. We will not give our daughters to forced conscription in the military. We as well oppose the forced conscription of our sons to fight under United Nations authority (commanders). We also reject government forced experimental vaccinations.
5. The State's use of TORTURE.
We renounce torture in all its nefarious forms. Torture violates the basic dignity of the human person that New Testament Christianity holds dear. We denounce and call anathema those who advocate, practice or condone torture. We see the so called legal reasoning of the unregenerate mind for torture and the subterfuge and euphemism it employs for cruel, inhumane and degrading treatment of suspects. We see the authorization of inhumane methods of interrogation, laws and precedents that permit information and evidence obtained under coercive interrogation techniques and torture to be used in a court of law and by military tribunals as wicked and inspired by Satan himself.
We reject the false doctrine that any policy or practice of the government or ruling by the US supreme Court that blesses such policy, is to be accepted under the logic of “being subject unto the higher powers”.
We further reject the existence of secret prisons, the practice of extraordinary renditions, whereby suspects are apprehended and flown to countries that use torture as a means of interrogation. The Remnant asks the Powers that Be: “Who would Jesus Torture?” Hebrews 11:35-40
5. Praying in Jesus' name.
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. If ye love me, keep my commandments. ( John 14:13-15)
We reject the false doctrine that valid prayers can be offered to a generic God but rather all genuine prayers public and private must be offered to God the Father and in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the only true mediator between God and man. (I Tim. 2:5) The Supreme Court of the United States has outlawed the invoking of the name of the Lord Jesus Christ in public. We declare that we will never offer prayers to our God in public or private without praying in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
GOOD STEWARDSHIP
We are leery of the Orwellian war on terror, which has become the ultimate propaganda weapon and open ended cashiers check for those who will do whatever it takes to retain power, vast amounts of taxpayer money has been squandered and countless lives have been destroyed. Sooner rather than latter, the Remnant must void the blank check. We the Remnant should be preaching the kind of insights that were expressed by General Dwight Eisenhower in 1953:
“Every gun that is made, every warship that is launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of war, it is humanity hanging on a cross of iron."
We reject the "Just War Theory".
Since the Creation of the "Just War Theory," following Emperor Constantine's claim to having become a
Christian in the fourth century, the church at large has assumed the
marriage of the Church and the military. Prior to the fourth century,
the Christian Church agreed that a Christian could not be a soldier. As
one looks at this theory, it is absolutely amazing that the church has,
for centuries, claimed to use this as a guide rather than the Scripture.
Why is it so amazing? Because it is only a theory, without scriptural
base, and it has never limited or deterred any war. It has been used to justify every war that has come along. Even a casual look at this
attempt to formulate a moral justification for war by Christians,
reveals not only its own inadequacy to provide a Christian answer, but also
its inadequacy to stop bloodshed. We cannot seek and save while we
search and destroy. We cannot obey Jesus' command to love our
enemies' and obey the governments command to kill.
Secular Fundamentalism and Humanism
We reject secular fundamentalism and humanism, which are the accepted and de facto cultural and legal standard for our time. Hostile, monolithic and intolerant secular fundamentalism is revealed in the Sacred Scriptures as the spirit of anti-Christ.
CONCLUSION
“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:21). “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised)” (Hebrews 10:23). "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not (Galatians 6:9).
